A truly unique sounding instrument, the Muselar, by virtue of its keyboard placement on the right of the instrument, plucks the strings much further from the left bridge than the plucking point of a harpsichord. The resultant tone is very deep and hauntingly hollow. The Muselar (center photo icon) was a special order, the decoration and case style being French rather than Flemish. In its usual form (top photo icon), the case is fully papered with an optional painting on the lid. It sits on a turned, trestle stand and comes with a matching bench. This is a tone quality you will not soon forget.
